Joyce's Notes:   Unlike most so-called wine crackers, these are not sweet, and they are flat.

 

Wine Crackers
Yield: 24 crackers

Ingredients:

1

cup

Flour

2 tsp. Snipped fresh tarragon

1/4

tsp.

Paprika

1/2

tsp.

Salt

1/4

tsp.

Pepper

3

Tbsp.

Nissley  Vignoles, semi-sweet white wine

2

Tbsp.

Olive Oil 

 

 

Salt

Directions:

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
    In medium bowl, combine dry ingredients.
    In another bowl, combine wine and oil.
    Gradually add liquid to flour mixture, tossing with a fork until well combined.
  Shape dough into a ball.  Avoid adding more liquid.
  Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface.
  Roll into a 12" x 9" rectangle 1/8"-1/16" thick.
  Prick pastry.
  Cut into rectangles
  Transfer to ungreased baking sheet.
  Sprinkle with salt
  Bake 18 minutes or until just firm and lightly browned.
  Cool on wire racks.
